Instead of matching an exploded-view drawing to a part number, the customer rotates the assembly, clicks the component they need, and the correct part number is identified for them. A PDF parts book is static: the customer reads an exploded view, guesses at the callout number, and phones or emails to confirm. A 3D catalog is the same information made interactive — the customer identifies the part by clicking the thing they are looking at, and the request that reaches you already names the correct part.
